EPR Spectrometer – Bruker ESR5000

Available Methods and Accessories

  • X-band Resonator
  • Variable Temperature (94 K to 473 K)
  • UV Light Source (345 nm)
  • Electrochemical Cell

Sample Requirements

Samples must have unpaired electron spins for detection. Solution or solid state samples are acceptable.

Summary of Technique

Samples are placed into a microwave cavity while the external magnetic field is changed. Electrons will undergo a change in alignment at the resonant field. This can be done in a quantitative manner.

Information Provided

EPR provides information regarding the magnetic environment about unpaired electrons. The system can detect micrograms of radicals in samples.
