Dr. Capri Price joined the IMS technical staff in July 2019 as manager of the Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) and Spectroscopy laboratories. She received her Ph.D. from Portland State University where her research focused on developing techniques to prevent and detect the earliest signs of metallic corrosion. These projects included portable hydrogel-based chemical sensors, whose multiresponsive mechanisms were explored and quantified using various spectroscopic techniques and electrochemistry, later patented. Capri also taught and instituted new curricula for instrumental analysis, quantitative analysis, and general chemistry laboratories to reflect current research trends.
